Port Ellen is a Scotch Whisky from the Islay region of Scotland. The distillery is located near the town of Port Ellen and is known for producing a coastal and gently smoky style of Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Port Ellen was originally founded by Alexander Mackay in 1825. It was closed in 1983 becoming one of Scotland's much revered “lost distilleries”. When full operational the distillery drew its water from Leorin Lochs.

Independent bottlings of Port Ellen are sometimes available through Old Bothwell and others.
