Forgeron is a family-run Cognac house based in Segonzac in Grande Champagne, where the family's presence stretches back more than a century. The modern maison was built by Michel Forgeron, who began developing the business in 1965 and established the Michel Forgeron name as a producer recognised for estate-grown Cognac and Pineau des Charentes.
Over time, the property grew from a very small vineyard holding into a much larger estate, while maintaining a distinctly independent, grower-producer identity. The style is grounded in Grande Champagne fruit and traditional know-how, with an emphasis on maturity, precision and the gradual development of character in the cellar rather than flashy presentation.
The house is now run by Pierre and Christophe Forgeron, who have taken the domaine forward while introducing a stronger focus on sustainable viticulture and renewable energy. Alongside the classic range, Forgeron is also recognised for more individual bottlings, including vintage and cask-focused releases that reflect the family's combination of continuity and quiet ambition.
