Four Roses is a Kentucky straight bourbon made in Lawrenceburg, with maturation and bottling operations at Cox's Creek. Established in the late nineteenth century, it has moved through several eras of ownership and is now part of Gallo, following the sale by Kirin in 2026.
Its character is shaped by one of bourbon's most distinctive production systems: two mash bills and five proprietary yeast strains, combined to create ten different bourbon recipes. This gives Four Roses unusual flexibility, enabling the distillery to build a consistent house style while also showcasing different facets of fruit, spice, floral lift and herbal depth across its releases.
The core range features Four Roses Bourbon, Small Batch, Single Barrel and Small Batch Select, alongside limited editions and recipe-specific bottlings. The style is refined by Kentucky standards, with notes of caramel, red fruit, vanilla, rye spice and polished oak, delivering both approachability and enough complexity to appeal to serious bourbon drinkers.
