Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Elgin, on the banks of the River Lossie. The distillery was founded in 1897 following the conversion of the former West Brewery, giving it a practical town-distillery character within one of Scotland's most celebrated whisky regions.
Now owned by La Martiniquaise, Glen Moray has grown into a sizeable producer while retaining a reputation for approachable Speyside malt. Its whisky is generally light, smooth and fruit-led, with notes of vanilla, orchard fruit, citrus, honey and gentle spice, shaped by a strong emphasis on American oak and a broad programme of cask finishing.
The range includes Glen Moray Classic, age-stated expressions such as 12, 15, 18 and 21 Year Old, and a variety of finishes using casks such as sherry, port, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and other wine styles. This makes the portfolio unusually accessible for exploring how different casks can influence a familiar Speyside spirit.
Glen Moray is a generous, easy-going whisky with more breadth than its modest profile sometimes suggests. It offers a clear introduction to Speyside's softer side, while its cask-led releases give enthusiasts plenty of scope to compare flavour, texture and maturation.
