Jura is one of the more distinctive island distilleries in Scotch whisky, with roots going back to 1810 and a modern revival in 1963, when the distillery was rebuilt to help sustain life on the island. Produced by Whyte & Mackay, the whisky has long been recognised for a gentler, more approachable style than many heavily peated island malts, with a house character shaped by ripe fruit, subtle spice, honeyed sweetness and well-balanced oak.
The range has evolved considerably over time, with the current core line-up now focused on expressions such as the 12 Year Old Sherry Cask and 15 Year Old Sherry Cask, alongside older and rarer bottlings including the 21 Year Old Tide and vintage releases. That expanded portfolio has helped establish Jura with a clearer identity in recent years, balancing accessibility with growing enthusiasm for more mature and limited expressions.
