Laphroaig's first collaboration with ambassador and actor Willem Dafoe makes for a genuinely intriguing bottling. Matured for 14 years and finished in oloroso sherry casks, this limited edition is bottled at 53.7% ABV. The trademark Laphroaig peat and iodine are unmistakable on the nose, while the oloroso finish brings dried fruit richness and a deep, warming sweetness to the palate. A layered dram that strikes a balance between Islay's rugged coastal character and sherry cask complexity. In film, "no notes" describes a performance so complete it requires no direction. This whisky was personally selected by Willem Dafoe alongside Laphroaig Senior Whisky Blender Sarah Dowling — not through deliberation, but purely on instinct. Dafoe became a Friend of Laphroaig in September 2025, and this limited edition is what came of it.
