While Laphroaig is renowned for its intense smoky character, best captured by the 10 Year Old expression, the 15 Year Old is where the range starts to soften. The more assertive medicinal notes step aside for an altogether gentler, subtler peat smoke, with classic brine and vanilla coming through on the nose. On the palate, a creamy richness delivers toffee and citrus, creating a rounder, fuller experience than the 10 Year Old. Matured in American oak bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% without chill-filtration, this much-loved expression makes its return as a permanent fixture in the range after more than a decade's absence.
